What's New in 2025 at the Currie Family Tree Foundation?
Safe Passage Initiative
As Road to Zero Coalition members, we've decided to apply for a grant with the National Safety Council to support safe youth transportation to our Currie Family Tree Foundation events and partner with Chicago Public Schools to provide free after-school event transportation to ensure youth arrive safely home from their events. Our partnerships with the National Safety Council (grant pending and awaiting approval), Chicago Public Schools, and a local church, Safe Haven Full Gospel Church will help make the work we do possible for the families of Chicago!

Vision
The Currie Family Tree Foundation is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of children and youth in our community. Unsafe transportation—including walking along dangerous roadways, riding in unauthorized vehicles, or traveling without adequate supervision—poses significant risks to children attending events sponsored by the Foundation or nearby community activities.
Through the Safe Passage Initiative, we seek funding to provide safe, reliable, and accessible transportation for youth to and from Currie Family Tree Foundation events and other community-based activities. This proposal integrates the Road to Zero campaign's three pillars, beginning with Doubling Down on What Works, to address the root causes of unsafe transportation and ensure the safety of our children.
